The brightest planets in October’s night sky: How to see them (and when)

Among the many 5 naked-eye planets, only one is out of the viewing loop this month and it simply occurs to be the brightest of all, Venus. 

Will probably be intently aligned past the sun as seen from the Earth on Oct. 22, because it transitions from the morning to the night sky. In the meantime, Saturn and Jupiter are distinguished within the early night sky, whereas Mars is finest seen through the late night/after midnight timeframe.
