Moon and Mars pictures
On December 7, 2022, our planet Earth handed between Mars and the sun, bringing Mars to its once-in-two-years opposition in our sky. Mars was at its closest and brightest for this two-year interval, and it was reverse the sun. A full moon can be reverse the sun. So, on December 7, the sun, the Earth, the moon and Mars have been aligned. And the alignment was so exact that – as seen from some components of Earth – the moon handed in entrance of Mars! Elsewhere, crimson Mars was broadly seen close to the full moon within the sky on the night time of December 7-8. Heartfelt because of all who submitted photos to EarthSky Group Images. We love you all! Just a few favs on this web page … and more moon and Mars photos here.
This put up is being up to date, as extra pictures are available all through the day on December 8. Come again!
Backside line: The moon and Mars have been spectacular on the night time of December 7-8, 2022. Some noticed the moon occult – or go in entrance of – Mars. Great pictures right here!
