French, Belgian astronauts named next Europeans to fly to ISS

France’s Sophie Adenot would be the first of the European House Company’s new crop of astronauts to fly to the ISS.

France’s Sophie Adenot and Belgium’s Raphael Liegeois would be the first two from a brand new class of European astronauts to blast off to the Worldwide House Station, the European House Company stated Wednesday.

Adenot will be part of the crew onboard the ISS, round 400 kilometers (250 miles) above Earth, in 2026 for a six-month mission, after which she can be changed by Liegeois.
