This new picture from NASA’s Hubble House Telescope exhibits interacting galaxies often called AM 1214-255. These galaxies comprise energetic galactic nuclei, or AGNs. An AGN is an awfully luminous central area of a galaxy. Its excessive brightness is brought on by matter whirling right into a supermassive black hole on the galaxy’s coronary heart.

Hubble noticed the galaxy closest to the middle as a part of an AGN survey, with the goal of compiling a dataset about close by AGNs for use as a useful resource for astronomers investigating AGN physics, black holes, host galaxy construction, and extra.
