The open cluster NGC 6823 in Vulpecular is ensconced throughout the emission nebula Sharpless 2–83, bursting with shade on this Hubble-palette rendition. Reaching inward towards the cluster are pillarlike tendrils of star-forming chilly, dense dust. The imager used an 8-inch f/4.9 scope to take 12 hours of publicity.
