A grand odyssey of exploration is about to start. Humankind’s subsequent daring mission to the outer solar system, ESA’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer, Juice, is poised to discover big planet Jupiter and its largest moons. These intriguing worlds have piqued our curiosity ever since Galileo first raised his telescope to the planet and found its 4 largest moons: Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto, three of that are thought to harbor underground oceans.

Early space probes visiting the Jovian system have raised extra questions than solutions. However because of Juice, a lot of these solutions are actually inside attain. ESA is launching the spacecraft in April 2023 on an eight-year journey to the distant planet.

To uncover the hidden secrets and techniques of those mysterious worlds, Juice is supplied with essentially the most highly effective science devices ever despatched to the outer solar system. The spacecraft will face many risks alongside the way in which: radiation, extreme temperatures, and the huge gravitational pull of Jupiter, all whereas working a whole bunch of hundreds of thousands of kilometers from Earth. However within the secure palms of ESA’s operators to information it safely by these challenges, the hazards can be price it for the science that Juice is destined to uncover.
