Please welcome Molly Wakeling to the Astronomy journal staff. Molly might be taking on our well-liked “Observing Basics” column, that includes observing, astroimaging, interest ideas, and methods tales, amongst different options. Her first column will seem within the August 2023 situation.
Molly is a Ph.D. scholar in nuclear engineering and have become a devoted astroimager in 2015 after receiving her first telescope. She now has 4 astroimaging rigs in her yard, together with one devoted to variable stars. Molly is actively concerned in STEM outreach, is an Ambassador for the American Association of Variable Star Observers and for the Explore Alliance, along with being a panelist and broadcaster for The Astro Imaging Channel on YouTube.
Molly succeeds Glenn Chaple, who retires from his writing of the column after a few years. Glenn first began writing for David Eicher’s publication Deep Sky Month-to-month in 1978, and has been a contributor to Astronomy for a number of a long time.
