Researchers suspect the celebrities are precursors to neutron star mergers and hydrogen-poor supernovae.

Drout and her collaborators used information from the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory to survey stars seen solely within the ultraviolet a part of the spectrum. The crew then noticed 25 stars and with the dual Magellan Telescopes, situated at Las Campanas Observatory in Chile. The crew collected information according to predictions that the celebrities are low mass, hydrogen-poor, and exist in binary methods.
