A medium-sized solar flare briefly blocked shortwave radio Tuesday (Feb. 7).

The lively sun fired off a number of solar flares in latest days, with one inflicting a momentary lapse in shortwave communications over the Pacific Ocean at 6:07 p.m. EST (2307 GMT), in line with SpaceWeather.com (opens in new tab).
