The astronauts on SpaceX’s Crew-3 Dragon Endurance simply held a brief 5-minute video name from space to point out off their crew capsule. You’ll be able to watch it right here.

The astronauts confirmed off some zero-g video games, like tossing meals round, spinning in weightlessness and extra to offer an thought of what life is like aboard Dragon.

They will see the the Worldwide Area Station exterior their window as they shut in for docking tonight.

New docking time for Crew-3

SpaceX’s Crew Dragon Endurance is forward of schedule and can now attain the Worldwide Area Station with its Crew-3 astronauts at 6:33 p.m. EDT (2333 GMT), 40 minutes sooner than deliberate, NASA officers have mentioned.

It is Docking Day for Crew-3

SpaceX’s Crew-3 astronauts are awake and gearing up for his or her docking day in orbit aboard their Crew Dragon Endurance.

The astronauts awoke at 2 p.m. EST (1900 GMT) and requested to carry a second of silence to honor the service and sacrifice of navy service veterans for the Veterans  Day vacation in the USA. Crew-3 commander requested flight management

“Thanks on behalf of Endurance and SpaceX and NASA, and actually the world, to all of the veterans who give us the power to do that every day,” Crew-3 commander Raja Chari of NASA, who joined NASA in 2017 as a U.S. Air Drive Colonel choose.

Minutes to SpaceX Crew-3 launch

SpaceX’s Crew-3 mission is within the last minutes earlier than launch. Flight controllers have the crew a last GO as the tip of fueling nears. Liftoff is at 9:03 p.m. EST

“Generally whenever you attempt to fly on Halloween you get a trick as a substitute of a deal with, however we’ll be proud to be flying on Dragon on Veterans Day,” Crew-3 commander Raja Chari radioed flight controllers. The mission was initially scheduled to launch on Oct. 31 and delayed by climate and a crew medical concern. They will be in orbit on Veterans Day, which is Nov. 11.

Fueling begins for Crew-3 launch

There’s an 80% probability of excellent climate at launch time, in response to a forecast from Area Launch Delta 45 on the Cape Canaveral Area Drive Station close to NASA’s KSC spaceport.

The Crew-3 mission will launch NASA astronauts Raja Chari, Thomas Marshburn, Kayla Barron and European Area Company astronaut Matthias Maurer to the space station on a six-month expedition. Their launch comes two days after the splashdown of SpaceX’s Crew-2 mission for NASA.

On that Crew-2 flight, one of many parachutes on its Crew Dragon capsule was gradual to inflate, nevertheless it was inside tolerances (the Dragon capsule can land with solely three parachutes, and did absolutely inflate earlier than splashdown. The incidence posed no concern for the Crew-3 launch, officers mentioned.

About 6 hours earlier than the Crew-3 launch, the Worldwide Area Station must hearth its thrusters to dodge space particles leftover from a defunct Chinese language satellite, however can be full in time for launch, NASA officers mentioned.
