Taurid meteor shower is consists of Southern Taurid and the Northern Taurid. Southern Taurid peak in between Nov 4&5, Northen Taurid peak in between Nov 12&13.

This shower is long lasting , infrequent and have short period comet (Encke) with a nucleus measuring approximately 2.98 miles (4.8 km) in diameter. 

Taurid meteor shower shows increase in fireball activity every seven years. Last time saw in 2015, now 2022 might be good.

Taurid meteor shower visible anywhere on Earth except for the South Pole. This shower comes from the direction of the Taurus  constellation. 

WHERE CAN YOU SEE?

Don't see directly in Taurus constellation, shooting stars will be visible all over the night sky. So don't look at only Taurus otherwise you will miss long trails meteor.

For both Southern and Northen streams best time to view is around midnight, when the Taurus constellation, is high in the sky. 

Date and Time

Southern Taurid meteor showers are  active from Sept. 10 until Nov. 20 and peak around Nov. 4 and Nov. 5, best time is around midnight.

Northen Taurid meteor showers are active are  between Oct. 20 and Dec. 10 and peak around Nov. 12 and Nov. 13. Best time is around midnight.

Taurid meteor shower caused by the debris of ice and dust, from comet 2P/Encke as it passes through our solar system.
