The universe is 13.8 billion years outdated. The oldest mild ever noticed was seen by NASA’s Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE) mission. Launched in 1989, COBE measured the cosmic microwave background — the faint relic radiation filling all of space — created just some thousand years after the Massive Bang.
The James Webb House Telescope (JWST) is designed to discover a subsequent epoch by which the universe was roughly 100 million years outdated. Throughout this time, the primary stars and galaxies fashioned. Thus, researchers count on that JWST will be capable of research the earliest galaxies and supernovae produced by the universe’s first stars.
JWST’s giant aperture and infrared functionality allow astronomers to discover, for the primary time, this era of galaxy formation. These knowledge will assist astronomers decide which of their theoretical fashions of how the universe developed is right.
