Planets on parade! This Week in Astronomy with Dave Eicher

The Moon will slide previous a line of planets within the morning sky within the coming week. This chart captures the view on Might 6, 40 minutes earlier than dawn, wanting east. Neptune will not be seen with the bare eye, and could also be a problem in binoculars as a result of brightening sky. Credit score: Astronomy: Roen Kelly

This week sees the return of Mercury, becoming a member of Mars and Saturn within the predawn sky. And on Might 4, you’ll discover a skinny crescent moon beneath and to the left of Saturn, in between Mars and Saturn. Over the following couple of days, the Moon will transfer down the parade, showing on Might 6 simply above and to the left of Mercury, anchoring the lineup.
