In 2019, the Occasion Horizon Telescope collaboration captured the first-ever image of a black hole, and earlier this 12 months, it captured a picture of the black hole on the coronary heart of our personal Milky Way galaxy.

In an article in Pure Sciences, a number one member of the collaboration—Heino Falcke, Ph.D., of Radboud College Nijmegen—tells the story of the journey that led to the creation of this newest picture.
